TwitterPinterestFacebook

As a Common Member, not only do you get to live in a beautiful, fully furnished home, but you can also enjoy community events organized by our Member Experience Team. Through the community portal, you can RSVP to fun gatherings, ranging from comedy shows to art classes, and meet other Common members. Here’s a round-up of some of our recent community events and a few others we’re looking forward to.

Community events we loved

Bob Ross Paint Night in Chicago: A few of our members in Chicago met at the Color Cocktail Factory for a step-by-step paint class with a professional artist. Inspired by Bob Ross, the night was relaxed, social, and thoroughly enjoyed with a nice bottle of wine. All art materials were provided, so members just had to show up and get painting.

Cotton & Reed Tasting in Washington, D.C.: In Washington D.C., our members toured the city’s first rum distillery, founded by former NASA strategists, and experienced its award-winning tasting room. Cotton & Reed offered our members a dynamic night of cocktails, ingredient tasting, and rum flights.

Cooking Competition in New York: At Common Kingston, members split into teams and faced off in a timed culinary competition. Each team had to work together and strategize how to beat the buzzer and create a delicious meal. The end result was a full sit-down dinner for everyone.

Community events coming up

Meditation and Chakra Balancing Class in Seattle: Next week, members can explore their energy centers and feel cleansed and recharged at Studio Flora Interbay Work Lofts. This grounding and balancing meditation — paired with a mini Reiki session — is the perfect event for members passionate about health and wellness or even those wanting to start a healthy habit.

Mission Foodie Walking Tour in San Francisco: Members in SF will be guided through the Mission District’s best restaurants, which includes award-winning pizza, renowned Mexican food, and even a bakery whose owners received the James Beard Award for Outstanding Pastry Chef. Between tastings, the knowledgeable guide will tell intriguing stories about 17th-century Spanish missionaries, the punk scene of the ’70s, and more.

Christkindlmarket in Chicago: A group of Common members will head to the Christkindlmarket for a traditional German dinner. This includes glühwein (German mulled wine), stollen (traditional fruit bread), and of course, strudels and pretzels.

One of the best parts about living at Common is a true sense of community. Steven S., a member at Common Kingston, puts it best, “there is so much value in having a strong community to be a part of when you move to a new city – defeating loneliness, having something to do on weekends, or even getting a job.” Become part of our community.
